Mayur Chapala
Mayur Chapala has been with Winnipeg Transit for more than 10 years. After working as a bus operator for five years, he became an acting supervisor and is now an inspector. Being able to interact with the public and explore the city was Mayur’s favourite part about being an operator.
Vijitha Noel-Nixon
Vijitha Noel-Nixon has been a bus operator for more than 15 years. She says being able to make a positive impact on the environment is one of the reasons she enjoys driving a bus. Vijitha loves route 98 because of the scenic views and wildlife she encounters while driving.
Mike Bassett
Mike Bassett has been with Winnipeg Transit since 1997. His father, who also worked with Winnipeg Transit, encouraged him to pursue a career as an operator. When he was an operator, Mike loved the flexible hours because it allowed him to work around his family’s schedule. He is now working as a supervisor in training.
Shannon Kennedy
Shannon Kennedy has been with Winnipeg Transit for more than two decades. She has worked as a bus operator for nine years, an instructor for nine years, and, for the past five years, as an operations supervisor. As an operator, Shannon loved to work and interact with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Manoj Kumar
Manoj Kumar has been a Winnipeg Transit bus operator for just over a year. Being able to discover new areas around the city has been his favourite part of the job. Manoj enjoys driving route 16 because it covers his home, workplace, and many people from the community know him.
