During the public engagement process, many questions were asked about the possibility of electric buses running on the Southwest Transitway. Winnipeg Transit is currently participating in a multi-year pilot project with New Flyer Industries (and other partners) to evaluate electric bus technology. At this time no decision has been made in regard to electric buses running on the Southwest Transitway; however, Winnipeg Transit will continue to test and evaluate electric bus technology.

To learn more about the electric bus test that Winnipeg Transit is participating in you can visit our Electric Bus Demonstration page.
