Fare Structure/ Payment
Winnipeg Transit Plus offers the same fares and categories as fixed route transit including the reduced senior, youth, and post secondary fares.
Fare Summary
Full Fare: Applies to individuals aged 17 – 64 who are not in high school or attending a participating post-secondary institution.
Youth Fare: Applies to youths 16 and under*, and high school students 17-21 with a GoCARD. Photo ID must be shown to Operator when boarding.
*Note: Children aged 11 and under are able to ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying customer.
Senior Fare: Applies to persons who are age 65 or older. Photo ID must be shown to the Operator when boarding.
Post-Secondary Fare: Post-secondary peggo cards and validated ID available at participating post-secondary institutions only. Validated student ID must be shown to the Operator when using a post-secondary peggo card. More information is available on the post-secondary pass page.
WINNpass: The WINNpass is available for purchase by adults who have been accepted to the WINNpass program. The WINNpass program is expanding in 2023 to benefit more eligible Winnipeg residents. More information is available on the WINNpass program page.

*e-cash can be loaded in denominations of $5, $10, $15, $20, $30 and $50, in any combination, to a maximum of $200. Minimum purchase amount is $5.00.
**The semester pass is a four-month fare product available to students registered at a participating post-secondary institution that is available for the terms of January – April, May – August or September – December of each year.
***Tickets are sold in sheets of five or 10 at Transit Customer Service Centres and select agent locations. Note: 2023 bus tickets (plus applicable cash difference) will be accepted until March 31, 2024.
All transit fare product purchases are non-refundable.

The use of a peggo card is subject to the peggo card terms and conditions.
Paper passes and photo ID (where required) must be fully visible to the Operator when boarding. Fraudulent use of transit fare products is a criminal offence. All passengers are expected to follow the Passenger Code of Conduct.

Fare Payment from Account
Winnipeg Transit Plus offers a cash-free electronic payment system called Fare Payment from Account (FPA). FPA allows Winnipeg Transit Plus registrants to prepay their fares when they take a trip. A virtual account is created for you at Winnipeg Transit Plus and you can deposit funds into your account by the following methods; telephone or on-line banking, cheque, cash, debit or credit card. You are able to purchase a monthly buspass from your account or have your fare automatically deducted from your account once you have taken your ride.

Please note that if you have any outstanding balances (Ie. No Show Charges, NSF Charges, Fare Owing) they will be automatically deducted from any existing or deposited funds in your fare payment account.If you have outstanding charges, when making deposits into your account, please ensure that you deposit sufficient funds to cover your charges and any trips that you may be taking in the foreseeable future.
Operators and Fare Collection
When riding Winnipeg Transit Plus you can pay for your fare with cash, tickets, tokens, bus pass or through fare payment from account. When paying with cash you must have the exact change as operators do not carry any change.
The expectation is that every rider pays a fare to ride Winnipeg Transit Plus, unless advised otherwise. Please speak to your operator if you do not have the correct fare and he will advise Winnipeg Transit Plus so that any unpaid fares can be collected.
*Post Secondary Students must show proof of current registration at time of purchase.
Registered Winnipeg Transit Plus passengers can perform all transactions for the Fare Payment from Account process at:
