Booking Trips on the Winnipeg Transit+ On-Request App
Booking trips on the Winnipeg Transit+ On-Request app is easy.
Please familiarize yourself with the following accessibility guide before booking your first trip:
- Cane or Crutches: This option is for mobility aids such as canes and crutches.
- Wheelchair: This option is for wheelchairs where the customer remains seated in the wheelchair during transport.
- Oversized/Tilt Wheelchair: This option is for wheelchairs that are wider, tilt, or recline, and where the customer remains seated in the wheelchair during transport.
- Transport or Foldable Wheelchair: This option is for wheelchairs where the customer can walk a short distance to a vehicle and safely and independently transfer to a vehicle seat, such as transport wheelchairs.
- Scooter: This option is for all types of mobility scooters, where the customer may need to walk a short distance to safely and independently transfer to a vehicle seat.
- Walker: This option is for standard walkers that fold. Attachments such as baskets may need to be removed for transport.
- Knee Walker: This option is for knee walkers.
- Oversized/Bariatric Walker: This option is for heavy-duty mobility walkers, different from standard walkers by being stronger with a wider frame.
- Service Animal: This option is for an animal that has been trained to provide assistance to a person with a disability that relates to that person’s disability.
- Oxygen: This option is for customers who use oxygen during transportation. Customers must ensure they have enough oxygen for all trips.
You can download the app through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app will appear in both English and French, depending on the language of your device. If you prefer not to download the app onto your smartphone, click here to access it on your web browser. You can also copy and paste winnipegtransit.com/booktransitplus into your URL to access the web app.
Once you have downloaded the app:
1. Open the app, tap Login, and enter your mobile device’s number.2. You will receive a text message with a code to enter when logging into the app.
a. The app should recognize you based on the phone number Winnipeg Transit has on file and show your name. If you don’t see your name, you may need to call the Winnipeg Transit Plus Contact Centre at 204-986-5722 to adjust the phone number we have on file for you.
When an account is created, you can start booking trips. Follow these step-by-step instructions to book a trip with us:
1. Open the app on your mobile device.2. Tap the Where to? box and select your drop-off location by searching for a point of interest or address. When selecting your pick-up spot, you can use your current location or enter your pick-up location by searching for a location or picking one of your favourite locations, recent locations, or pre-approved location stops.
3. Confirm your pick-up location on the app map.
4. Select the date and time for your trip. Remember that you must make your booking by 5 p.m. the day before your trip. You can book your trip as:
a. Leave at: indicate your desired pick-up time; or
b. Arrive by: indicate your desired drop-off time.
5. Add additional passengers or indicate your mobility aids by tapping on the Passenger or Wheelchair icons.a. Note: you will only be able to book for the fare value that you are eligible for.
6. If No Charge shows, it means that you have a valid fare pass or e-cash that is paying for your trip. If a fare value shows, you can select the type of payment method that you’d like to use to pay by tapping the Payments icon in the bottom right.
7. Review your estimated pick-up and drop-off times, then tap Schedule Ride when ready.
Once a trip is created, you will receive real-time updates via text or app notifications. You can track your vehicle’s location and estimated arrival time in the app.
