Setting up Trip Notifications

Français

Customers enrolled in trip notifications/reminders will be automatically migrated to the new software.

Customers may opt in, opt out, or change their notification preferences through a customer service representative at launch. They can also do that through the Winnipeg Transit+ On-Request app, once it’s available.

There are some changes to the types of notifications offered. Currently, customers can receive a notification call the night before their trip and 15 minutes before their trip.

Under this new platform, customers will be able to receive notifications:

  • When a trip has been successfully booked
  • When a trip is 24 hours away
  • When a trip is an hour away
  • When their vehicle is arriving at their pick-up location
  • When a vehicle is more than five minutes late for a pick-up
  • When a trip has been cancelled
  • When a trip has been missed (no show)

Additionally, customers can take advantage of new channels to receive their notifications based on their preferences. Instead of only phone calls, customers can opt for:

  • Mobile app notifications (also known as push notifications)
  • Text message (SMS) notifications
  • Email notifications

Phone call notifications will have a caller ID of 204-986-5722, which is the main number for Winnipeg Transit Plus. SMS notifications will come from a caller ID of 204-400-0326.

If a customer cannot be reached on their preferred channel, the system will use a fallback channel to help ensure the customer receives the message.
